"If it can handle that it’s going to handle any conditions anywhere ".

The Fremantle Doctor would be a good test as far as the DST mechanism is concerned ie. making multiple rapid adjustments to keep within the specified tolerance under strong windy conditions.

There are also other conditions that will need to be handled. Using KSA as an example, in many parts of the middle east when there is wind there is also often (but not always) dust. It will be interesting to see how the design of Hadrian enables the machine to operate continuously for long periods between maintenance. I'm also interested to see how much dust the 'glue' can tolerate and remain effective.

I have confidence between the Pivacs and Caterpillar this has been thought about but leads to me agree with you that we have not yet seen the final version.

You make a good point, which I recall some others have also mentioned, about mounting the system on a tracked chassis. This will be an advantage on many third world greenfield sites and reconstruction projects in war torn areas. I'd visited Damascus before the Syrian civil war. It looked bad enough in peacetime... Other than perhaps the M113 APC extension programme, I'm not aware of tracked vehicles being manufactured in Australia. I guess Caterpillar can take care of that.
