It's odd that you call putting your money into gold an 'investment'. The definition of investment is:
"the action or process of investing money for profit."

Gold hasn't made a profit for years, almost everything else has - property, stock, bonds. In fact over any decent period, gold is about the worst 'investment' on the planet, and as I have clearly explained, the longer you hold it, the worse it gets.
