Has anything happened yet? Thought she said she'll have those meetings within a week from when Yeo Bee Yin said it. Yeo probably starts to realise that as a Minister, there are so many things that she has to balance. Job of the Environment Minister is not to disallow all things that harm environment - if so, it's quite easy to do, just say no to all mining.

However, the job of the Minister is actually to balance the need for development against environmental harm/damage, i.e. to "sustainably" develop industries without inflicting irreparable harm to the environment. And interestingly enough, her portfolio covers across Energy (oil and gas, renewables, etc) and Technology. How can she balance between 2 of her portfolio (Energy & Technology) which usually brings environmental harm with the other two in her portfolio (climate change and environment)? This is where it gets interesting.
