I gather most on this thread are CFD and index traders.
I mentioned on a previous post some months back if a bank goes Chapter 11 they put a freeze on all withdrawals.
Now does this affect there their SIV's and trading partners.
ie IG Markets/GO etc I think are westpac SIV's (not 100% on IG though). If Westpac was to belly up, would this affect withdrawals from these two SIV's?
From memory if CITI has a large number of SIV's and if they were to go under (which I called 6 months ago based on their derivatives/subprime and more importantly their short term debt exposure - which make the subprime issues look tiny in comparison) will their SIV's freeze withdrawals too.
