Off the top of my head I doubt this would work, crushing in closed circuit would reduce the iron ore and chert simarly. Have BRM proposed such a circuit?
Almost all iron ore processing is beneficiation based, ie using magnetic or density to separate ore from waste.
The only sized based cicruit I have heard of is were RIO based.
At Parburdoo where the very fine slimes (shales and iron ore) are sent to tails with a dispproportionate amount of alumina. Fingermark may have some detail here
And at one time RIO produced a detritals lump and threw away the fines as the impurities disproportionally went to the finer sizes. You are proposing the opposite circuit, my gut feel is no, but would like to understand if there is further supporting info
