Morph, agree with you entirely. Governments here and overseas negligently deregulated this market putting responsibility in the hands of consumers. As we know consumers need to be saved from themselves that is why the finance market needs regulations in place. It is my belief that governments (extreme right wing) created a huge middle class as an insurance to hold on to power.
