I put a lot of posters on ignore that present no real arguments or information, or who are too emotional, illogical, or doctrinaire. But I prefer to hear most counter-arguments.

Doing so helps one to stay objective.

The problem with using the ignore function is that one should rebut negative arguments, or present the alternative interpretations. If those with contrary oponions are on "ignore", the field is turned over to them without logical opposition or counter-argument.

The good arguments and points must be conceded, but the weaker ones ought be countered.

Someone may bring up things one has not considered.

It's like exercise...keeps you on your toes.
