Yes, the story is 3 years old, but it highlights the importance of cheap power. Its the same issue today as it was three years ago and power costs will be even more important in the future. As the article states the power costs are a considerable concern to Indian alloy smelters who cannot compete with the cheap power of Sarawak, Malaysia. Indonesian power is almost twice the price of Indian power, then you'd have to be a donkey not to understand this basic principle.
Obviously the head in the sand approach doesn't make the power price cheaper.
If you're not concerned then you'd better think again because power costs will make or break alloy smelting projects.
