OK, a fair commentary. Thanks for sharing those thoughts.

Oh it's not a level playing field, I never said that. But retail traders aren't playing the same game, investing means you have a long term mindset and the ebbs and flows of day to day trading shouldn't really concern you. In terms of sheer numbers of trades - of course it's possible, nobody serious has a single trading session, they have dozens and multiplex their order activity. It's not usually actually a good idea to trade that much, order book dynamics make lots of trading (at least of meaningful size) potentially detrimental to the desired outcome - but that's a topic to fill many books. ASIC pay very close attention, and have automated market surveillance from NASDAQ that is quite sophisticated. They also like to make examples of people for behaving badly. Really what you should be concerned about is insider trading, now that is genuinely rife, I think ASX is probably the market where I've seen the most of that.
