BASKER MANTA SINGLE POINT MOORING (SPM) INSURANCE SETTLEMENT
The Basker Manta Gummy Joint Venture (BMG JV) is pleased to announce that settlement has been reached with the BMG JV lead underwriters for the insurance claim, managed by insurance broker Benfield Corporate Risk, relating to the SPM failure that occurred on 5 July 2007.
The BMG JV insurance policies had coverage for both Physical Damage and Business Interruption and the total claim has been settled at approximately A$66 million. This amount represents all the costs of the repair (after a small deductible) and a substantial contribution to lost revenue.
Progress payments totaling approximately A$48 million have been received to date and the remaining A$18m will be paid over the next few weeks.
