another announcement just realeased on NSX. Infratil, a NZ infrastructure fund, just announced it is accepting offer for its shares. The problem with this, is that neither Auckland Airport nor Infratil have announced at any point, just how many shares they own. Infratil owns 66% of wellington airport, and lots of other stuff, but has no declared holding in AIA.
The problem with the AIA bid, it has a minimum acceptance of 39.2% and as of today only 20% accepted. Very odd indeed. The offer is 30% over current market price, why wouldn't some shareholders accept it ? Maybe there will be a last minute rush.
