I find that SPI has just sooo much noise that I've given up making trading decisions based upon it - I chart XJO and then actually trade SPI contracts based on the XJO.
This also saves me being stopped out as often, given the bewildering contra-trend volatility on SPI - I use XJO and SPX to generate stop-signals and only place actual stops in the SFE market if I'm away from my office - I add/subtract fair value plus 30 - 50 points to my XJO generated stop positions and live with the increased size of loss rather than getting whipsawed.
I imaging you find something similar with CMC - it is based on SPI from what I've gathered on here?
