Wow.... I spent a fair bit of time researching vacancy amongst Mayfield's childcare centres tonight and it's looking okay.
Most centres have a high level of vacancies which is concerning. Primary driver behind this is sheer number of childcare centres in and around where Mayfield operate which gives parents more options to choose from.
What is pleasing to see however is that management are now focusing on astute acquisitions with the latest acquisition in their portfolio having next to NO VACANCY, which is what I like to see. WHY does this centre have low vacancy? Well, I did some research to see how much competition Mayfield's latest centre has and guess what? There's only 1 or 2 other childcare centres for parents to choose from within the surrounding area. Hopefully, management continue to acquire similar centres within areas that only have 1 or 2 childcare centres.
I am still somewhat concerned that most of the centres have >50% vacancy, which imo may hold the SP down in the short term.
