In 1998 the SP500 did not make a lower low in Sep.
The Dow probably did by a few points.
And 1948 looks as good as or even better match that 1968 as expected.
1947 topped in July had a sharp fall into early Sep.
It then had a mid Oct top and fell hard into early Feb '88 and then a retest of the low as stated.
If that doesn't look like the current pattern I don't know what does.
