Transurban's annual net profits more than doubled to $468 million as the company said it was "confident" of securing regulatory approval to buy a 51 per cent stake in Sydney tollroad WestConnex. Even though WestConnex was not "critical" to Transurban's future growth because the company had "lots of other opportunities" in Australia and North America.
