I didn't see the interview and I trust your perspective. I would say though that Glencore is a major player and innovator in the space. It managed to readily take out take out MIM via it's minion Xtrata some years ago. I'm not definitive on the link from Glencore to Blackrock but the senior resource specialist at Blackrock was mentioned several times as engineering the AVB's last Brazilian expansion purchases.
For us rather than the potential T/O of OZL Glencore's outlook for Cu is probably more important. Separately I understand they have their hands full with their Cu assets in the Congo and also sold a Cu income stream in favour of Ni & Co from a Canadian company.
I believe Blackrock sold out their AVB interest as short-term negative call on Cu. If that seems confused I'd say yes - the fog of war. Some would say SNAFU.
