Correct. Centro, at best, is what Buffett would call a "cigar butt" investment at the moment - an ordinary business that is undervalued, so as an investor you might be able to get a few cheap puffs out of the cigar, then it's useless. Buffett doesn't like commercial property because of the revaluation furphy that all commercial property players use to arrive at inflated NTA values, and because it's difficult to get a REIT business into a 'moat' situation.
Interestingly, Buffett has confessed that commercial property is within his "circle of competence" so he has always been willing to invest in it, but he has very rarely done so on any decent scale. This should tell you all you need to know about the chances of Berkshire Hathaway even remotely considering putting a dollar of its money into Centro.
Just for the sake of confirmation, people should view the following video and hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvYUFZQ44tM&feature=related
Cheers.
