I think the posts above bring out very clearly that it is ones's psychology that is the greatest determinant of how successful we are in our trading. No matter how good the analysis is, at the end of the day when real money counts, pulling the trigger is handled very differently. All sorts of ideas and emotions cloud our ability to press that button saying "BUY" or "SELL". This is why there is such a varied result in the research posted by Rodd earlier.
I am currently reading "Trading in the Zone" by Mark Douglas and it picks this aspect as the most important in trading. All analysis and group work is useless if at the end of the day you cannot pull the trigger when all conditions are being met.
