Weren't S&P the clowns that were asleep for the last few years and didn't wake up to the sub-prime issue until it was almost half complete.
These guys have so little credibility left that I doubt many people are going to change thier view of the world or the market because S&P has done.
The market is well ahead of these guys and has already factored in that earnings are going to be well down in the near term at the major brokers/ IBs - not exactly the most insightful commentary you could get!
