the commodity story and especially aluminium has started to focus on the cost of production of the commodity. This will obviate towards the physical commodity. ie aluminium futures.
ie if you buy a producer, bauxite developer/explorer, then you will be faced with an increase in the costs, ie power. The physical has more attraction. As do most commodities.
It may be that China is reducing it's exports of aluminium, simply because it is therby exporting solid electricity. This has little to do with bauxite reserves.
