Polls harden come election time. Australia isn't geared up to solar yet. LNG goes to a national level vis a vis energy prices and GDP through exports of national gas.

Lead time for getting renewables up an running to represent a reasonable portion of energy production is 10-20years. We can see that with examples such as the uk with a shift from coal to wind, solar and tidal.
