Let's look at what that "act of great faith" cost him. Let's take the worst case difference of 12.5 to 10.5 cps. It "cost" him just over 20k AUD to do this (compared to if he bought on market). Let's see how long it would take him to earn this on his DGR salary alone (which is grossly underestimating his income)...
Less that one week.
It would take under one week to recoup that loss from his DGR salary alone. Hardly a glowing endorsement..
