For someone who would rather have a functional government, preferably not a socialist government I find the lnp and their current war to be incredibly stupid and self centered.

I am in the middle, as most people are but the middle is vacant in the lnp now as the war rages.

I know the drys have been planning this a long time. They were fuming from the time TA was rolled and started plotting in earnest and falling in behind Dutton at least by the last half of 2017. It is civil war and both sides hate each other with a passion and are blinded by the rage of hate. Both sides care more about pushing their philosophy than anything else.

It is all about taking control of the brand lnp and along with it the money, organisation, foot soldiers and then (because control of government swings between the lnp and alp in our two party political nation) government some time in future, which will allow the side in power push their agenda in government.

The drys should have waited until after the next election, but they did not want to risk a MT victory at the polls. The whole argument in reverse applied when the wets knifed TA in the last episode which irks me more in some ways because although TA was a gaff prone as PM, he did get them there.

The idiots are making big assumptions that second preferences will go to the lnp regardless. I will not vote lnp and probably preference them last behind for the first time in living memory. As much as the world is not what it was and not what I would like it to be in many ways, the world changes and organisations that don't adapt to the changes become irrelevant and suffer decline.

The lnp and its supporters will take a big hits as a result of this episode. They have turn 'almost no chance' of retaining government into 'no chance'. They will pour money into a campaign that fails and then the alp government will bleed directly and indirectly during next term of government. The drys have declared if they don't win the battle they will continue the war and effectively kill the lnp next election and they mean it. The wets are threatening the same thing - the drys don't think they mean it.
