In my opinion, the "scandium price" is immaterial. It is not traded openly. The price is what someone is prepared to pay to secure stable supply. The scandium price is scandium oxide price and the aluminium industry wants a different product - master alloy. The aluminium industry is the only market segment capable of large scale growth.
I think the long term "price" will be in the range of $1200-$1500/kg, because it will be set by how low the existing Chinese suppliers are prepared to go. At $1200/kg, the Chinese are close to break even with a small profit.
