While we are at it, let's remember that everyone who owns a Bank share owns a part of the Bank and as shareholders they condone this sort of behaviour so that their shares and dividends go up.

Could we dump our bank shares and send them out of business........hardly.

Bank shareholders love making money. They have no sympathy for punters caught in risky lending schemes. All they want is their money kept safe and more profits.

They don't care at what cost.

The Banks caused these problems by reckless lending and they are very worried they will loose big money. Margain lending on shares is high risk too. Giving someone control of your shares is even worse.

The Banks will sell the Opes assets as quickly as possible because they have far more big problems coming their way. It is not impossible for a Bank to fail yet.

So don't hold out much hope of seeing anything back out of this mess.
