Guys, the expression "safe as houses" is there for a reason. You don't find out your house has gone broke and you are now holding worthless script. If you spent the last ten years accumilating property and sold some to pay off the others you would be laughing.
If there is a downturn the great thing is rents shoot up - very hard to lose if you know what you are doing. All I know is my rental income is vastly increasing month to month hard to say that about the stockmarket. Oh and so are my property values - guess it comes down to location location.
Mind you I have no mortgages and would prefer a slump so I can buy more and repeat the accumilation cycle.
