I am a MIN shareholder and the HZR plant announcement prompted me to wander over here to have a look.
The first question that came to mind is how much of the IP does HZR actually own.
The 2017 company report states rather cryptically: "The Company has intellectual property rights to a technology which allows the production of hydrogen gas from methane (natural gas) with negligible carbon dioxide emissions and the co-production of a high purity graphite product (the ‘Hazer Process’ ."
They say that they have "rights" not "the rights", which makes me wonder exactly what they do have.
The US patent site says that the current assignee is Hazer Group Ltd .
The priority date for the US patent is 10-9-2009, so on the assumption that it is a 20 year patent, whoever owns it has another 10 years to make hay with it.
Does anyone know how much of the intellectual property that HZR effectively owns. Presumably the original inventors or their university have a stakes along with MIN for funding its development.
It looks like it could be worth squillions if it scales up OK and the IP stands up.
The fact that MIN is taking its further development under their wing is an encouraging sign.
