"non-approved short selling activities" - the thing is unfortunately that is it approved on many platforms. I think this is where the trouble really lies. They also seem to get some tax break as well just to rub salt into the wound.
The people who short these stocks find it very easy to manipulate the sp of these companies. I have found that their best form of manipulation lies in the subtlety of their language. The will start threads like "time taken" etc which makes people dump as they are impatient. Not "in-your-face" threads like "this stock is a dog" etc but more covert and no-offensive language that make people believe they are being earnest and intelligent. Always under the cloak of "helping the poor down-trodden punter". Yeah right!
