Onionhead, to answer a couple of your questions:

A 1/ Yes, he knows this model very well and how it will end.
A 2/ He will end up with at least a few $mil, enough to retire on for a guy in his early forties and shareholders will end up with nothing.
It will not be the first time this happens on the stock market, nor the last.
The longer he can string it out the more pay packets he collects. Shareholder mining, not nickel mining.
Yes, I still hold, and like many are exiting on the pumps which many posters have already pointed out are becoming very predictable and also making lower high's and lower lows!
Sadly some investors including myself have to and will learn the hard way.
