Its hard to say how much is opes prime related as unless opes prime discloses how much holding they have and need to sell of mbi. If they have already sold most of their share would be wise to buy possibly.
You do need to look at broader picture, high interest rates reduce investment, shonky credit practices in the US, market pessimism.
And then part of MBI for sale, Fabio Panutti resigning (ex-CEO) a month or two ago.
On another note As benjamin graham states that there is more value in stocks when the price falls.
For the record in simpler terms: from 10 cents to 11 cents is a 10% change, a change from 1c to 2 cents is 100% (potentially)
