Wow what a newbie question! If you have a million shares worth $10k, now you will have 100,000 shares at 10 cents, its only to make the shares more tradeable in 5% pips instead of 10% pips at this price. Quite often these changes also have a placement to favoured stakeholders at a steep discount, (don't or care if they do this time) though they already had devastating number of these.
