I started using Afterpay in April this year - out of interest to see how seamless the process is. Today I added my NAB credit card to my account (current credit card is expiring soon) and used it to make two early payments on my two orders. When I went to make a third early payment on the orders, my payment was declined. I received a text from NAB that there was suspicious activity on my card. When I phoned, NAB told me they are having a lot of issues with stolen NAB credit cards being used for Afterpay transactions.
I also noticed on my Afterpay account that Afterpay has experienced higher than expected call volumes in August 2018.
On the plus side, I found this email from Afterpay encouraging:
"You will not be able to use your current (due to expire card) to make a new purchase with us (sorry) and will need to wait until your new card arrives. We do not have a way around this. We are continually developing our product and service and have this on our 'shopping list' of things we would like to improve."
