IND-OZ Strategy 2035

Yesterday, in Melbourne, the seminar took place for the "Indian Economic Strategy to 2035: Navigating from Potential to Delivery." The Australian High Commission in Chennai call it the "road-map for the India-Australia economic partnership and Tamil Nadu is among the 10 priority states for Australia" [1]

Organised by Austrade and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in partnership with the Victorian Government, the seminar was based around a year-long report commissioned by PM Turnbull. Below is a picture of him receiving the finished report in July 2018 [2]



The Speakers:

• HE Harinder Sidhu, Australia’s High Commissioner to India
• Senior Representative from State Government of Victoria
• Ms Leonie Muldoon, Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner for South Asia, Austrade
• Michelle Wade, Commissioner to South Asia, Victorian Government Trade and Investment [4]

My point? Well, our Chairman and MD of ECT-India (Ashley Moore) was also present. Indicating, IMO, a clear crossover between our work in both India and Australia. It's not a simple case of here or there, IMO, but here and there.

So many of these meetings and networking we will never find out about, but I'm confident our techs and work are known to those who matter in the Vic / Aus govnts.
