baron.. all agreed mate. By not confirming anything it does somewhat open the door for speculation of possible bids that far exceed 90c. The throwaway line about "of course none of this will necessarily lead to a transaction" (in my opinion anyway) is a rather tongue-in-cheek way to even up the ledger. The AFR knows stuff which means (usually) everyone except me knows stuff. I think this announcement is excellent. Far better thann if it were to say that we're thrilled by the bids at 90c !!!!
