Pump may be the wrong word, i maybe should have called it calm before the storm.
But seriously, you are a nitpicker, ASIC and ASX allow all this manipulation through allowing such products as shorts,leveraged derivatives pre open/close auctions and the like. If they wanted to stop artificial manipulation, they could start by shutting down those products and areas.
