I +1 this post, but rather than just referring to investors include the big institutional investors in Australia. The ones that never trade in up and coming companies, the ones that dont invest in new ideas that are literally crying out for the funding. And of course they buy and sell in concert with the rises and falls on the U S market. If there was more willingness to take calculated risks from the bigger investment institutions in oz, rather than this sheep like index tracking nonsense, we would have more successful start ups in oz go on to bigger things. But the bigger funds are happy to just ride the benchmarks and avoid risks, so we lose so much potential to bigger overseas predators ( aconex springs to mind, im sure there are many others)
