I wouldn't take it too seriously. The 'experiment' is just a TV show.
Something to set your heart at ease; pre-experiment they used the whole face to determine 'skin age'. Is the equipment as accurate when analysing half a face later?
In my estimate a more correct protocol would have been to construct a composite face by mirroring the left side, determine the 'skin age', then repeating for a composite face for the mirrored right side. Then, at least, the equipment is measuring a whole face each time.
Regardless, the notion of measuring 'skin age' is contentious at best. Surely the result would have +/- 5 years degree of error.
Doesn't require a 'please explain' from anyone. Change the channel (or turn it off).
