He's a very intelligent person and I think that people don't understand him sometimes and that actually makes him appear mentally ill. Not saying they're on the same level but I would imagine Einstein was viewed the same way.

In regards to evil AI I think you really need to define what evil is first. To a terrorist what they are doing is fighting against evil. It all comes down to ones perception of the world and the morals and laws that one chooses to live by that defines them. When you take that understanding and apply it to the programmable AI that we have today if it were used in a way that the majority would class as evil then that is what it would be.

AI learns like a child so it needs to be "raised" to a set of standards (morals and laws) that help shape it. When the day comes that it can think intelligently the idea is that it would still be defined by those standards but with higher intelligence perhaps those standards can be improved in a good way. It's an idea worth being discussed.
