PJ83 said a few hours ago, you could only get your TV back if police caught and prosecuted the villain. Not sure what jurisdiction that applies to, it would not help too many burglary victims I would think.
Also, retrieving goods depends on you being able to identify them. Thats why you should mark your drivers licence number and other indentification on everything.
