Well you gave it a crack mick

What I’m interested in and I guess ultimately is a similar conversation is revenue.

We can all gather how the other 3 players involved get their share of the pie so no point running over that to much but feel free if you want.

How does ESH work out it’s % for what they offer.

It’s kinda like a virtual dome where sports are played but you cant charge at the door or sell drinks, food or merchandise.

I can’t see the lessor players paying monthly as they won’t stand a chance against the league players especially those with sponsorships.

So my thoughts are heavy on advertising and if you want the big money on advertising you need big events with big prizes and lots of attention for those paying to advertise bla bla bla.

Razer and Singtel will see to that for starters and as always the centre hub will have plenty of companies wanting to get involved and throw plenty of money in.

You then have the fan base which is really interesting and it’s really a massive drive of the whole industry exactly the same as any other sports really. Without the fans there’s no money, there will always be sports regardless.

The fans have their own worlds/forums, chat rooms and become just as big as some of the athletes and it’s crazy how easy it is to start your own show now with all the free network setups and streaming.

Betting is another massive plus to this space. What I’m still trying to get my head around is other than advertising and the pros who will pay. They’re saying you can’t charge a once off just to watch a match from memory, please don’t quote me on that and that’s why you have to pay monthly subscription. Pay tv and big events are though so why would there be different rules for esports.

The old will stand in the way of the new, they always have because it means what they once use to control and make millions off has become the past and new players run the new space and that will be a fight on its on especially with corruption in governments being paid off. Not down ramping ok! Obviously some of the old players are making a move now and involving themselves with the newer breeds.

And no offence to Australia and I’m Australian but this country besides its beauty and lifestyles it’s so back to front and for the most part we’re an embarrassment to the international community and our government is far from forward thinking.

Easy example: Foxtel and Netflix in Australia and how that deal went down and as a result of that we still don’t have the proper version of Netflix.

Our network setup is a joke as well which is also a problem for gaming. When a kid out in the middle of Africa has faster internet than a kid in central Sydney that’s saying something.

Just saying this isn’t going to be allowed to run as free as some may think because of the amount of money this space is going to make.

Again I like to look at everything and as much as I see the future here and ESH having its foot in the door along with its partnerships, the stock market is the least of its worries.

I’m still trying to get my head around it all to be honest and I do believe the business model will be similar to that as traditional sports/events but it’s on a whole other level.

Plenty to consider and just food for thought.

Would appreciate anyone else’s perspectives on how this will unfold with what they know as I have a habit of over thinking sometimes and this may be as simple as 1,2,3
