I heard a piece yesterday about people who invented things through bad mistakes.
One was a guy trying to sell these waffles at a fair, hot day and he couldn't sell a one. The guy next to him was doing a roaring trade selling icecream. What happens, he runs out of paper plates and is about to pack up, when this waffle guys curls up a waffle, in goes and spoonful of icecream, and thus the icecream cone was invented.
Another was the guy who decided people should have fresh breath so he makes a mint. He pores all his money into this idea and is near broke when they stuff up along the way in the manufacturing process and all the mints have a whole in the centre. Thats why he called them lifesavers...
All great things come from people under duress who find a positive angle to their dilemna..
