Wong Tack was part of the delegation that visited the LAMP in August. A noticeable absentee was Fuziah Salleh.
I believe this visit was associated with the review of Lynas operations that was alluded to by the new Minister Yeo Bee Yin. Unless they found something seriously untoward, which they did not, I don't see any reason why a parliamentary committee or executive branch committee would need to be formed to review Lynas operations.
What I am hoping is Yeo Bee Yin will see past the emotional, un-rational, non scientific based views of the anti Lynas groups and base her decisions on the facts which prove lynas is in full compliance with its licence and regulatory conditions and that the company has a comprehensive residue recycling management plan which subscribes to international best practices. More importantly that the LAMP is an intrinsically low risk operation.
There is no rational reason why condisoil should not be approved and Lynas NEXT regulatory approvals withheld. Time for this farce to come to a head which I believe will be sooner rather than later.
