I think it's a bit average for some of these institutions requiring $500 worth whether buying or selling. It should be irrelevant to them, they'll still receive their brokerage fee. And besides, it's not like single share trades etc. don't happen aye.
I dunno, doesn't seem fair for example that some loyal holder with $499 worth and for whatever reason can't participate in the CR, is unable to receive any compensation for them.
The same can happen too with the options down the track. "Sorry, you're stuck with your options, you only have $X"...
