Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (“Fortescue”) advises that as of 2.30am this
morning its railway is now fully connected between Cloudbreak and Port
Hedland. The last of the rail sleepers and rail line have been laid along the
main line between the Fortescue Herb Elliott Port through to the ore
preparation facility at Cloudbreak some 260 kilometres to the south.
The “inexorable march” gains momentum as prior to commercial operations,
commissioning trains will now run the full length of the journey once remaining
track preparation is completed over the coming days.
