Yes but to run cattle and sheep in most of Australia you have to spread phosphorus onto the paddocks in the more intensive areas, or put it into licks or water in extensive grazing areas or fertility drops way down, calf/lamb mortality increases, weight gains suffer, illnesses increase. Properties that do not have a history of supplemental super have very poor livestock production. Ideally the ground should have more than 30 parts per million PO4-- and lots of the farms I have seen with production problems have P lower than 5 ppm wheras farms with a good history of super phosphate spreading have upwards of 80 ppm. Those with levels of over 100 ppm are able to sit back and not spread every year but soil levels are monitored regularly by businesslike farmers.
