wash trading. just a thought

from time to time, there seems to be a run on gda, with resultant claims of "news around the corner", "must be insiders" blah blah blah. watso was just checking out a news article

and found the following


"Wash trading involves buying and selling shares to give an appearance of investor interest in a company, to encourage others. The wash traders then sell their shares to the tricked investors at inflated prices"

frankly, watso has no idea, but the run at the beginning of january, looked incredibly suspect.
