Drop in short positions occurred in a number of Lithium's in todays update.
So I would watch for it to jump back up on tomorrows update, indicating someone didn't report their short positions in time (naughty).
If it doesn't jump back, it was as has been discussed, a short position that was opened but never actually sold, being returned to the owner, closing off the position.
