I assume they are treating drug addicts as a health problem.
My son was only arrested when he was stealing to support his heroin addiction.
My other son has been in state control for many years because of his mental problem.
Education is they key in my opinion.
Give all children information about drugs and the affects of drugs in a more forceful way and this includes alcohol.
This includes prescription drugs.
Give them 2 hours a week during formal education classes.
At the same time tell them about addictive gambling.
Just my opinion and I know parents do tell children.
I talk to my son but kids learn better from a third party I think.
Australia needs to sort this out.
Thousands of families are affected already, if not millions.
