I guess the issue for 123 is to keep his head and ensure balance.
He is putting time into the research and that has real value. Against that, he cannot possibly know all the machinations and is therefore interpreting whatever he can glean as fact.
As such, he has to ensure he doesn't enter into a one-man crusade against the company's motives without allowing for the opposite to be proved true.
As for your point about credibility - Damien the market has a very short memory. A few days of positive sentiment will see previously wary individuals change tack very rapidly.
