That's somewhat true, generally speaking but the stock market is based on user sentiment, though it generally follows the performance of a company, it's not always a true correlation of a company's performance to it's share price.
There's always a risk, of buying a solid's company shares at it's highest, the company may perform wonderfully or stable but the share price may never reach that high again for a range of reasons. Large shareholders want out, directors selling, large commercial trade floors selling their stake for other opportunities. The company may still be drawing profits.
Do I see a bright future for CPV? Yes, do I see further fluctuations in share price, of course.
